Hardy pays tribute to beloved rescue dog

Tom Hardy has posted an emotional tribute to his pet dog and “shining example of man’s best friend”, who has died after an illness.

The actor rescued Woody as a stray puppy in 2011, having spotted it by a roadside in the US. He brought it back to the UK and the pair were inseparable.

“The world for me was a better place with him in it and by my side,” he wrote on a fan site. “He was far too young to leave us and we at home are devastated by his loss.”
