Helping hand Female officer refused to leave victim
A British Transport Police officer stayed holding the hand of a victim of the attacks even though he pleaded with her to leave him for her own safety. Brett Freeman, 32, a machine operator at Dagenham Ford, was stabbed four times in the back by the terrorists.
“If it wasn’t for Emily [Lewis], who kept me talking, who wouldn’t leave me, I might not have reached hospital alive,” Mr Freeman said.
The father of three is now recovering at home.
