Parenthood (1989)

 Steve Martin shows his comic brilliance in Ron Howard’s warmhearted comedy. Martin stars as Gil Buckman, who is trying to juggle being a good father while facing family problems, career troubles and general day-today survival. The pathos, coupled with frequent humour, makes it eminently watchable. Keanu Reeves, Dianne West, Joaquin Phoenix and Mary Steenburger are among the excellent all-star cast.
