Bercow to stay as Speaker

John Bercow appears on course to continue as House of Commons Speaker after a prominent critic said there was “no appetite” to push a vote to challenge him.

Conservative former minister James Duddridge added he believed there were “more important battles to fight” in the UK following the General Election. Mr Bercow is set to be confirmed as House of Commons Speaker today.
