Carers-only debit cards to stop fraud

-

Carers looking after elderly friends or relatives will soon be able to use “carers cards” to buy groceries and pay bills without being accused of fraud.

Barclays will issue special debit cards from next year with the ability to limit their use to certain shops and within certain spending limits.

The move will mean carers will not have to ask their ward for personal details, which could potentially be used to carry out fraudulent transactions.
