Terminally ill baby given life support extension

-

The parents of a terminally ill baby boy have been given more time to present a legal case arguing that he should be allowed to travel to the US for treatment.

The European Court of Human Rights yesterday extended an interim order stating that doctors must keep treating Charlie Gard until Monday.

Chris Gard and Connie Yates want the 10-month-old, who has a rare genetic condition, to undergo a trial of therapy called nucleoside, but doctors argue it is not in his best interests.
