Charterhouse teacher’s classroom sex with pupil

A PUBLIC school teacher had sex with a pupil in a classroom after they shared fantasies on Facebook, a tribunal heard.

Dr Dean Johnson, 52, who taught physics at Charterhouse in Godalming, Surrey, asked the pupil what size underwear she wore. He resigned from his post in 2013 after the girl complained to the police.

Dr Johnson was later convicted for possessing extreme pornography, which depicted a woman being hanged while men watched, and given an eight-month prison sentence suspended for two years.

The National College for Teaching and Leadership panel heard that his relationship with the student became sexual weeks after she turned 18.

The panel ruled that the conviction, and the relationship, meant Dr Johnson was guilty of unacceptable conduct.

It will shortly decide whether to recommend a teaching ban to the Secretary of State for Education.
