The Documentary: What Went Wrong with Brazil?

WORLD SERVICE, 11.30AM

Everything seemed to be going Brazil’s way when its economy was booming and it bid successfully for both the World Cup and the Olympic Games. But in 2011 Dilma Rousseff was elected President, before the economy began to sink the following year, and she was subsequently controversially impeached. David Baker tries to find out just what happened to change the country’s fortunes so suddenly.

The Damien Slash Mixtape

RADIO 4, 11.00PM

Into Radio 4’s mixed-bag late-night comedy slot comes Youtube character comedian Damien Slash (real name Daniel Barker). Damien Slash makes the now typical, even rite-ofpassage, up-and-coming young comedian trajectory from the internet and a show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to late-night radio. He promises to use his character comedy to skewer all aspects of modern life, including adverts, actors, hipsters and trolls. His Youtube videos garner tens of thousands of views each, if you count that as an indicator of quality.
