Evil influence The Nemesis hypothesis
The idea of the Nemesis emerged in 1984 when Dr David Raup and Dr Jack Sepkoski of the University of Chicago stated that mass extinctions happened every 26 million years. Physicists at the University of Southern Louisiana proposed the idea of an “evil twin” star which, every 26 million years, swung through the Oort Cloud of icy debris and sent millions of space rocks on a collision course with Earth.
