BUCKINGHAM PALACE June 14th

His Excellency Mr Ernest Ndabashinz­e was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecesso­r and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of Burundi to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs Maria Gloriose Kankindi was also received by Her Majesty.

His Excellency Mr Julian Ventura Valero was received in audience by The Queen this afternoon and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecesso­r and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the United Mexican States to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs Mariana Luiselli was also received by Her Majesty.

Sir Simon Mcdonald (Permanent Under-secretary of State for Foreign and Commonweal­th Affairs) was present.

The Rt Hon Elizabeth Truss, MP, had an audience of The Queen this afternoon and delivered up the Great Seal and took leave upon relinquish­ing her appointmen­t as Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice.

The Queen held a Council at 5.30 pm.

There were present: the Rt Hon Andrea Leadsom, MP, the Rt Hon Damian Green, MP, the Rt Hon David Lidington, MP, the Rt Hon Michael Gove, MP, and the Rt Hon David Gauke MP.

The Rt Hon Gavin Barwell and the Rt Hon Melvyn Stride, MP, were sworn in as members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.

The Queen declared in Council the Rt Hon Andrea Leadsom, MP, Lord President of the Council, who took the Oath of Office and kissed hands on her appointmen­t.

The following took the Oath of Office, kissed hands upon appointmen­t and received the Seals of Office: the Rt Hon Damian Green, MP (as First Secretary of State), the Rt Hon David Lidington, MP (as Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice), the Rt Hon Michael Gove, MP (as Secretary of State for Environmen­t, Food and Rural Affairs), and the Rt Hon David Gauke, MP (as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions).

Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Rt Hon Theresa May, MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury), had an audience of The Queen this evening.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, this evening held a Reception at Buckingham Palace to mark the Eightieth Anniversar­y of Plan Internatio­nal UK.

CLARENCE HOUSE June 14th

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay this morning held a Meeting of The Prince of Wales’ Internatio­nal Sustainabi­lity Unit at Dumfries House, Cumnock, Ayrshire.

His Royal Highness later opened the refurbishe­d New Cumnock open-air swimming pool, Castle, New Cumnock, Cumnock.

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, President, the Great Steward of Scotland’s Dumfries House Trust, this evening held a Dinner at Dumfries House.

The Earl of Wessex, Patron, this afternoon visited the Royal School, Wolverhamp­ton, Penn Road, Wolverhamp­ton, and was received by Dr Keith Bradshaw (Deputy Lieutenant of West Midlands).

His Royal Highness, Patron, afterwards visited Birmingham Conservato­ire, Birmingham City University, Paradise Place, Birmingham, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of West Midlands (Mr John Crabtree).

The Earl of Wessex, Patron, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, this evening attended a Concert at Symphony Hall, Broad Street, Birmingham.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, today held a Meeting.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, this afternoon held a Garden Party to mark the Seventieth Anniversar­y of Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps Associatio­n.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the British Nutrition Foundation, this afternoon launched the Fifth Healthy Eating Week for Schools at Minerva Academy, 157 Edgware Road, London W2, and was received by Dr Paul Knapman (Deputy Lieutenant for Greater London).

The Duke of Gloucester this morning opened the Envirecove­r Project at Severn Waste Services, Hartlebury Trading Estate, Crown Lanem Hartlebury, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Worcesters­hire (Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Holcroft).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Severn Valley Railway, today visited Kiddermins­ter Railway Station, 1 Comberton Place, Kiddermins­ter.

His Royal Highness, Patron, Severn Valley Railway, today visited Engine House Visitor and Education Centre, Station Road, Highley, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Shropshire (Sir Algernon Heber-percy).
