Russian air strike may have killed Isil leader
Russia is investigating whether one of its air strikes killed Abu Bakr al-baghdadi, the leader of Isil.
The Russian defence ministry said it was checking information indicating that Baghdadi was killed in Syria.
It said Russian aircraft targeted a meeting of high-ranking Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) chiefs, where Baghdadi was reportedly present, on the southern outskirts of the Isil stronghold of Raqqa in northern Syria on May 28.
