Shopping centre bomb kills three in Colombia
A HOMEMADE bomb exploded in a busy shopping centre filled with shoppers in Bogotá, Colombia, killing three people, including a French woman, and wounding nine others.
Police said a potent explosive was placed behind a toilet in a women’s second-floor bathroom in the Centro Andino. It was detonated at around 5.30pm on Saturday.
Attention immediately focused on the National Liberation Army, which is the last rebel movement still active in Colombia. The group, known as the ELN, carried out a spate of recent attacks against mostly police targets in Bogota, but its leaders denied involvement in the latest bombing.
