Sigh of relief

SIR – David Allison (Letters, June 16) points out that if everyone breathed in when boarding a railway carriage, there would be less room available.

Ah, but when the doors close and everybody breathes out there is more room for everybody, which makes things far more comfortable. Madge Ayres
