DAY 2 TOMORROW

-

2.30 Jersey Stakes (Group 3) 3.05 Queen Mary Stakes (Group 2) 3.40 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes (Group 2) 4.20 Prince Of Wales’s Stakes (British Champ Series, Group 1) 5.00 Royal Hunt Cup Heritage Handicap 5.35 Sandringham Handicap (Listed)

Race of the Day Prince Of Wales’s Stakes (4.20) will showcase some pretty smart middle-distance horses. Highland Reel is top class at 12 furlongs but he looks vulnerable dropping back to 10. He has plenty of progressive horses to fend off, not least Ulysses, trained by Sir Michael Stoute, renowned for improving older types. Ulysses showed great battling qualities at Sandown on his return and looks capable of taking another step forward. Jack Hobbs will ensure this is a true test.

One To Watch American trainer Wesley Ward hit the headlines in 2009 when taking this meeting by storm with his juveniles, including Jealous Again, who blasted her rivals to pieces in this race. The word is that Happy Like A Fool (3.05), a comfortable winner of her only start in America, is yet another fast and forward filly.

Best Outsider Luck will always play a part in races such as the Royal Hunt Cup (5.00) so it pays to have the price on your side. Yuften is a classy sort who has been aimed at this race and the 20-1 about him looks great value.
