Company of Scientific Instrument Makers National Liberal Club

Ald Dame Fiona Woolf, accompanied by Mr Nicholas Woolf, was the principal guest and speaker at the annual banquet of the Company of Scientific Instrument Makers held last night at Stationers’ Hall. Mr John Caunt, Master, assisted by Prof Ron Summers, Senior Warden, and Mr Ken Sanders, Junior Warden, and their ladies welcomed the guests. The Senior Warden and the Master also spoke. Sir Roger and Lady Bannister, Mr Keith Mcdowell and Baroness Dean of Thornton-le-fylde, the Master of the Glaziers' Company, the Deputy Master of the Clockmakers’ Company, and the Masters of the Air Pilots' and Tobacco Pipe Makers' Companies. Baroness Bonham-carter of Yarnbury was the guest of honour at a dinner held at the National Liberal Club last night to mark the 130th anniversary of the birth of Lady Violet Bonham Carter (April 15, 1887). Mrs Janet Berridge, Club Chairman, presided and Mr Michael Meadowcroft and Mr Michael Berridge also spoke.
