Caribbean dream home couple grapple in court
A multi-millionaire aromatherapist and her architect former partner have gone to court in a dispute over their Caribbean dream home.
Anastasia Alexander and Alfred Munkenbeck were “in a romantic relationship” in 2011 when they agreed to spend more than £1million over five years developing their humble £150,000 holiday home in St Lucia into an eight-bedroom eco villa with four swimming pools. However, in 2014 the couple’s “personal relationship irretrievably broke down”, documents at the High Court state.
Mr Munkenbeck, of north-west London, says that after the split, Ms Alexander “ceased contributing towards her share of the funding”, while he spent a further £500,000 on the villa. He is now suing her for a £250,000 half share of that sum.
Ms Alexander, from Surrey, claims her ex-partner made the project more complicated and expensive than it needed to be, and that she should not be expected to pay. The case has yet to go before a judge.
