Brewing up trouble
SIR – When I started drinking beer (Letters, June 21) in pubs as an under-age customer, as we all did 40-odd years ago, I recall that the local brew was 3.2 per cent alcohol. It is now 3.8 per cent.
We drank to savour new experiences, but it was also possible to enjoy quaffing a couple of pints without getting legless – a drawback of many current expensive offerings, however flavoursome they may be. Tony Parrack
