Vision of London as a ‘park city’

-

A GIANT loop of meadows, trees encircling central London, a network of green buses and an app that connects all Londoners to the capital’s “living network” – all are concepts that have won a challenge to produce ideas on how London could be made the world’s first National Park City.

Artists, designers and architects were invited to visualise what such a future could look like by the newly established National Park City Foundation, which picked four visions, from simple to ambitious.

Rewild my Street was deemed to have enormous potential through its vision to plant wildflower meadows and install patio ponds, bird feeders and insect hotels in front gardens.

Another entry, envisioned by Anne Frobeen, aimed to help Londoners access and enjoy a greater variety of green space across the city and beyond with a dedicated London Green Bus Network.
