China-linked stocks plunge on news of probe

Beijing and Hong Kong stocks linked to Chinese conglomerates plunged up to 10 per cent yesterday as news of a probe into China’s swashbuckling corporate empire-builders spread. The China Banking Regulatory Commission said it was interested in “systemic risks” to the financial system.
