Woman falls to her death near collapsed cliffs

A woman in her twenties is believed to have fallen to her death close to the scene of two huge cliff collapses on the south coast.

Sussex police are investigating after the woman fell from a cliff east of Cuckmere Haven in the Seven Sisters Country Park. Inspector John Adams said: “The death is not being treated as suspicious ... We’d like to remind people to take care around cliff tops and stay well away from the edge.”

Police said there was no evidence to suggest the woman’s death was as a result of cliff erosion after chalk cliffs at nearby Seaford collapsed twice in less than 24 hours, sending tons of rock crashing into the sea.
