Ultimo queen bags a good seat in the House of Lords
Ladies, you know how it’s perfectly possible to yell “What on earth is she wearing?” at the television, but still pay sufficient attention to the news or weather report to get a handle on what’s going on?
Well, when I saw Michelle Mone clutching her £17,000 Hermès Kelly as she watched the Queen’s Speech in the House of Lords, I stopped listening.
I know, I know, but the occasion wasn’t exactly high end; the style downbeat, the substance thinner than a vicuña poncho.
How better to fill the minutes than by assessing whether the bag matched her ermine, before deciding that ermine is so tricky, all bets are off?
Then I mused over how much it cost. (I guesstimated a measly £6,000 because I obviously don’t shop within the purlieus of Bond Street nearly enough.)
And finally I asked myself: would I? If I could?
I’m still wondering if I wouldn’t prefer a new bathroom.
