-

Google has been fined €2.4billion (£2.1 billion) and ordered to stop punishing rivals to its online shopping service. The company was handed the record penalty for years of monopoly abuse from 2008 onwards and told it has 90 days to change its ways or face further fines.

The fine is more than double the previous record for a competition case, the €1.09billion Intel was told to pay in 2009.
