Babies die in Gaza amid claims Israel denied help

Three babies have died of heart defects amid accusations that they were denied urgent medical treatment outside the Gaza strip.

A Palestinian Authority health ministry official claimed that the babies, the oldest of which was nine months, were denied clearance to leave Gaza “on a security pretext”.

Israeli officials and the PA Civil Affairs Ministry both denied that permit requests for the sick infants to be treated outside of the Palestinian territory were submitted.
