Mormons lift trouser ban for female HQ staff
Female staff at the Mormons’ headquarters in Salt Lake City will be allowed to wear trousers – a move which one women’s group has called a step in the right direction.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sent employees a memo about several changes which also include longer maternity leave and allowing men to remove their suit jackets in hot weather.
A spokesman for the church said the religion’s leaders had made the decision about women’s clothing to help employees feel more comfortable.
