Collie flowers

-

Three border collies are helping replant swathes of woods in Chile by scampering through wearing satchels that spread seeds as they go to sow grass, flowers and seedlings.

Forest fires in the El Maule region reduced 1,130 acres to burnt landscapes. Francisca Torres, who owns Das, Olivia, and Summer, said the dogs jump from the back of her truck and run into the forest, happily oblivious to their charge of bringing the forest back to life.

Torres says the dogs are smart, fast and can cover 18 miles a day, sowing up to 22lb of seed.
