Lost lives

SIR – The Government happily uses taxpayers’ money to fund abortion at the rate of up to £1,530 per case. This will now apply in England for women coming from Northern Ireland, where abortion is illegal (report, June 30).

This means perfectly innocent human foetuses losing their rights to live a full and happy life.

In the 50 years since legislation was passed to permit abortion in Britain, approximately 8.5million young lives have been lost in this way. Tom Morrell
