Milos Raonic Canada

A monster serve and a much-improved volley game took Raonic (right) all the way to last year’s final and included a win in the semis against seven-time champion Roger Federer. Andy Murray ultimately proved too strong in the final, but if Raonic, 26, can stay fit and healthy then he has a shot at going one better this year.

Nick Kyrgios Australia

It was at Wimbledon three years ago that Kyrgios announced himself with a thumping win over then-world No 1 Rafael Nadal. Alexander Zverev Germany

The 20-year-old is seen by many as a future world No 1 and in May he won his first Masters title with a comprehensive win over Novak Djokovic in the Italian Open final. Zverev (below) has yet to reach the second week of Wimbledon, but he demonstrated his grass court pedigree with a win over Federer in Halle last year en route to the final.

On his day, though, Cilic, 28, can beat anyone, and his big servebig forehand game have yielded three straight quarter-final appearances in SW19.

Grigor Dimitrov Bulgaria

‘Baby Fed’ has not gone on to hit the heights expected of him and he remains infuriatingly inconsistent. It all seemed to have clicked for the Bulgarian (left) when he reached the Wimbledon semis three years ago, but he has been up and down since then.

Dominic Thiem Austria

The 23-year-old is fresh from beating Djokovic en route to a second straight French Open semi-final, but he has looked far less comfortable on grass than clay. He has a monster serve, though.
