Hammond is forced to face a pet hate: cycling
Richard Hammond, the television presenter, has revealed he has had to take up cycling following a spectacular car crash while filming in Switzerland.
The Grand Tour star said doctors told him to stop running for exercise because of a knee injury sustained when his car repeatedly flipped over and caught fire just as he escaped from the vehicle. Hammond, 47, wrote on the Drivetribe website: “I’ve been told by the doctors … to go cycling.
“Cycling. They may as well have told me I was allowed to take up the bagpipes. But I’ve no choice: I’m 47 years old, need exercise and can’t run. So bicycling it is.”
