He may be the reigning champion and the World No 1 but Andy Murray has been way off the boil this year, recently dumped ignominiously out of Queen’s at the first-round stage by Jordan Thompson, who is ranked 90th. What’s more, he was forced to withdraw from an exhibition match in Hurlingham with a hip injury. The favourite to win Wimbledon this year is tennis’s Dorian Gray, 35-year-old Roger Federer.
