Corbyn promotes three new MPS to front bench
Jeremy Corbyn has appointed three Labour MPS to his shadow cabinet just 25 days after they were elected.
He yesterday promoted Paul Sweney to the shadow Scotland office, Afzal Khan to home affairs and Anneliese Dodds to his treasury team.
In an embarrassing mistake, Mr Corbyn’s team spelt the names of three new shadow ministers – Gloria De Piero, Tracy Brabin and Rachael Maskell – incorrectly in a press release.
Mr Corbyn said his new shadow cabinet was “further evidence that Labour is not just the opposition – we are the government in waiting”.
