Cross-party calls for an end to BBC ‘bias’ on Brexit
THE BBC is embroiled in a fresh Brexit bias row after MPS from across the political spectrum called for guidelines to ensure the broadcaster is “impartial”.
A cross-party group – including Labour’s Kate Hoey, Philip Davies, a Tory backbencher, and Ian Paisley Jr, of the DUP – have held talks with James Harding, the BBC’S head of news.
MPS have been critical of the corporation since the referendum. In October last year Boris Johnson, the Foreign Secretary, hit out at the BBC’S “shamelessly anti-brexit coverage”.
An MP who was present at the meeting told The Sun: “The main thing is looking for a code of practice or guidelines to ensure the BBC is impartial.”
