Angry Medvedev throws coins at umpire’s seat

A Russian player last night risked the wrath of Wimbledon officials when he threw coins at the umpire’s chair in an apparent protest. Daniil Medvedev, 21, is likely to be fined for his actions, which appeared to disparage the honesty of the Portuguese umpire, Mariana Alvez. Medvedev had been 2-0 up in the deciding set but became irate with the umpire’s decisions as he eventually lost.
