Canada’s Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, has thanked Scotland for being a “strong partner” as he received an honorary degree in Edinburgh. Mr Trudeau, 45, was awarded the degree in recognition of his commitment to equality and diversity. The liberal leader attended the ceremony at the University of Edinburgh yesterday before meeting the Queen at the Palace of Holyroodhouse. He is in Europe for this week’s G20 summit.
