Bronx cop shot dead in ambush on patrol car

A female NYPD officer was shot dead in the Bronx area of New York early yesterday morning, ambushed in a marked patrol car by a man with a revolver who was later killed by officers. Officer Miosotis Familia was hit in her head as she was attacked at the end of her shift. She was taken to hospital but died of her wounds.
