Jerome Kaino v Sam Warburton

Kaino must be aching with frustration. In two starts, his game-time has been restricted to a mere 73 minutes. At Eden Park, Ardie Savea replaced him early with Steve Hansen perhaps concerned about his backrower’s match fitness following knee surgery. In the second Test, Kaino was sacrificed for centre Ngani Laumape after Sonny Bill Williams’ red card as the All Blacks prioritised numbers and penetration in the backline. Dovetailing with Sean O’brien, Warburton was a breakdown nuisance who slowed the hosts’ recycling without incurring the wrath of referee Jerome Garces. He will aim to bring the same level of accurate spoiling to the decider.
