Fearful staff ban parents from sports day

♦ Parents have been banned from a primary school sports day after some were aggressive towards teachers.

The head teacher of Howard Junior School in King’s Lynn, Norfolk, said no parents would be invited to the annual event to “ensure the safety of staff, pupils and indeed other parents”.

Gregory Hill said aggressive behaviour towards staff by an “extremely small minority” of parents had “ruined matters for all concerned”.

Police confirmed officers had been called to two incidents at the school, which has around 150 seven to 11-year-olds on its roll, since June.
