Girl on school trip dies in bin lorry crash

♦ A 14-year-old girl died when a minibus carrying school pupils on a field trip was involved in a crash with a bin lorry.

The teenager was on a bus carrying 21 students from John Taylor High School in Staffs. It crashed on the busy A38 Kingsbury Road in Birmingham at about 9am yesterday. A second teenage girl was taken to hospital with minor injuries and others were treated at the scene.

No arrests have been made. Police said that both drivers were assisting with their “detailed and thorough” investigation.
