Joust the ticket

Brave knights clashed with lance and sword as mischievous jester Peterkin the Fool (below left) played pranks at English Heritage’s Grand Medieval Joust. The clock was turned back at Eltham Palace in Greenwich, south-east London, with displays of archery, falconry, armour-making and etiquette as crowds enjoyed the weekend sun in the colourful period encampment.
