Mugabe to Singapore for ‘routine medical’
Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe’s 93-yearold president, has flown to Singapore for a “routine medical check-up”, state media reported yesterday.
This is Mr Mugabe’s third medical trip to the Southeast Asian city state this year. His previous visit, in May, was also said to be for a “routine medical check-up”.
Mr Mugabe is Africa’ oldest serving leader, and his health has been the subject of increasing press speculation. In March, two journalists were arrested over a report alleging that he was “in bad shape”.
