Bafta-winning documentary maker Morgan This Was My Dad Matthews turns the camera on his own family to bring us this charming and intimate tale of fathers, sons and dysfunctional families. He attempts to reconnect with his ailing, estranged father Geoffrey. A much-admired automotive engineer and designer, Geoffrey came up with the concept for people-carriers before financial problems, allied with creeping alcoholism, brought him low. Both father and son face demons from the past, while Geoffrey’s eccentric partner Anna offers wry asides and occasionally wobbly emotional support.
