Orkney’s Old Man of Hoy is a noted challenge for climbers, but German Alexander Schulz, 26, took a new route – becoming the first person to walk to the summit of the 450ft-high sandstone sea stack. He completed his ‘slacklining’ feat 50 years to the day after it was first climbed in a BBC broadcast.
