Teenager escapes bear ‘crunching’ his head

A teenager working at a Colorado camp woke up at 4am to the sound of “crunching” to find a black bear biting his head and trying to drag him away.

The 19-year-old’s head was inside the mouth of the bear, which was trying to pull him out of his sleeping bag as he slept outside at Glacier View Ranch, near Denver.

The teenager, who required only minor hospital treatment, punched the bear, and staff members who had been sleeping nearby shouted and swatted at the animal, which eventually left.
