Documentary The British Garden: Life and Death on Your Lawn BBC FOUR, 9.00PM
This one-off documentary, by Chris Packham, goes much deeper than the patch of lawn in your garden. It takes a thorough delve into every nook and cranny of five suburban back yards over the course of a year. His aim is to record, with the help of a vast array of cameras and a team of wildlife scientists, the astonishingly varied creatures that live – mostly unbeknown to us – in the “miniature Serengetis” that are our gardens.

The focus on the illness’s impact on Sivyer’s grandparents’ seemingly unbreakable relationship is heartbreaking at times but ultimately uplifting. GO
