Flight club

A Lancaster bomber was escorted over RAF Coningsby, in Lincolnshire, in an air show to mark the 60th anniversary of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. The flight was formed by Gp Cpt Peter Thompson, a Hurricane pilot, in 1957 to honour the planes involved in the 1940 battle. Carol Vorderman, ambassador for the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, was in attendance.
