Distant post offices

-

SIR – Simon Pain (Letters, July 10) is not the only one left with no post office. Last year my village had two post offices. Now we have none, due to the Post Office’s refusal to allow sub-postmasters to open only during the hours of 9am to 5.30pm. Villagers were happy to accept these hours.

Other nearby offices are either not on a bus route or have very limited parking. We are left with a five-mile drive or a 25-minute bus journey to use Post Office services.
