Widow wins £3.5m after battle with stepchildren
A banker’s widow has achieved a £3.5million payout after a five-year dispute with her stepchildren.
Marie-luise Eglau-petschek, 74, of Knightsbridge, London, has battled through international courts with them since 2012 over her late husband Thomas Petschek’s £30million estate.
The international banker, who once fled the Nazis as a child, died aged 77 in 2009, setting off a long-running family feud.
Eason Rajah QC, her barrister, described the dispute as an “open sore”.
