Grenfell fire girl had cyanide poisoning

-

♦ A 12-year-old girl who survived the Grenfell Tower fire was diagnosed with cyanide poisoning, raising fears the toxic gas may have contributed to some of the 80 deaths.

Luana Gomes was treated for the poisoning, which may have been released by the burning of insulation or plastics during the fire. Luana’s mother and sister were also placed in medically induced comas and treated for suspected cyanide poisoning before being released from hospital.

Andreia Gomes, who was seven months pregnant at the time of the blaze, lost her unborn baby.
