Day 5 TUESDAY JULY 18
Brits to watch
Tuesday could be the first day without a British gold medal winner. That said, Sabrina Fortune will look to build on Paralympic bronze in the F20 shot put while Luke Sinnott, who lost both his legs serving in Afghanistan, makes his British debut in the T42 long jump, where he is ranked fourth in the world. Polly Maton will be seeking improve on her fifth place finish at the Rio Paralympics in the T47 100m. Veteran Richard Chiassaro and team-mate Nathan Maguire both go in the T54 200m.
Foreign star
A veteran of four Paralympics, Canada’s Brent Lakatos finally won his first gold medal at Rio 2016. Now 37, he set five world records in 10 days this summer and contests T53 400m today.
Don’t miss event
Ireland’s Jason Smyth (below) relinquished his T13 200m world title when he decided not to contest the event two years ago. He wants it back now but Brazilan Kesley Theodoro is fastest this year.
