Prince’s emails at centre of blackmail case

- Telegraph reporter

AN ARCHIVE of Prince Andrew’s private emails is at the centre of a blackmail court case involving Tory donor David “Spotty” Rowland.

Mr Rowland has accused a former business associate, Michael Wright, of trying to blackmail him with emails between his son and Prince Andrew.

During a High Court trial, which ended on Thursday with judgment reserved, Mr Rowland’s eldest son Jonathan said Wright had come into the “wrongful possession” of more than 30,000 emails from his personal account, The Sunday Times reported.

Mr Wright denied wrongfully obtaining emails or attempting blackmail. A spokesman for Buckingham Palace declined to comment.
