SIR – A local supermarket suffered a major computer glitch on Saturday which meant that it could only accept cash at its tills.

This resulted in a long queue of customers at the ATM for cash to do their weekend shopping.

Where does that leave the cashless society (Letters, July 15)? Jude Good
